My Vegetable Garden

I am in the process of making my first Vegetable Garden at North Ballaird. I thought that it might be a nice idea to plot my progress and collate the results at the end of the year. As Adam is teaching me PHP and is keen that I practice it at all times he has set me the challenge to write a digital gardening diary program which I have only just started doing. Hopefully soon you will be able to link through to this diary and see my progress with PHP as well as the Vegetable Garden. Pea Seedlings

Vegetable Garden update

Well I decided to have a look at my vegetable garden a few weeks ago after a month off to study. However the only thing I found was a weed patch. My bush beans had been eaten by the slugs as had the Boer pumpkin I had planted. The spinach was looking very weedy and my onions had disappeared under a blanket of grass. The only thing that has done reasonably well are the pea and we have had some very tasty steamed peas on a few occasions.

I decided to dig up my Epicure Tatties, (the local potato variety) , only to find that each plant only had about 2 decent sizes potatoes on them and some of them had started to rot. So after 15 minutes digging I was highly distressed and gave up for the night. I am still trying to decide what the problem is, if the summer has just been to cold and wet, If I planted them to early or if I am just a really terrible gardener. Anyway, as soon as I am feeling less depressed about the whole thing I might try to find the onions under the grass blanket, but I fear I have lost them forever!

Vegetable Garden Update

As I am taking a little break from my PHP to finish and writte my Bookkeeping certificate exams in June I have not managed to start on the Vegetable PHP thing I was looking to do. I have however carried on with the vegetable garden and I planted my pea seedlings yesterday.
